Summer is already here and the scorching summer heat is already being very hard to deal with. It is hard on our bodies and health and thus we need to be very cautious. It is very often that one feels fatigued with the heat soaking up all your energy. The rising temperature makes us feel low on energy and one should combat it with a healthy diet. It is very important to keep our bodies hydrated and to consume the correct food items to keep the body’s temperature on check.

One such perfect food item to be consumed during the scorching summer is Curd Rice! Curd rice is a very simple easy-to-make dish which helps us to cool down the body temperature and maintain a soothing internal body temperature as well. Let’s have a look at the various benefits of consuming curd rice on a hot summer day!

Let’s have a quick look on how to prepare Curd Rice:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Curd
  • 1/2 table spoon powdered sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 table spoon Ginger paste
  • Chopped green chilli
  • 1&1/2 cup parboiled rice
  • 1 table spoon oil
  • 1/2 table spoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 table spoon Cumin seeds
  • Curry leaves

 

Instructions

  • Take curd in a bowl and mix it with powdered sugar, salt and green chilli.
  • Beat the curd well until it becomes creamy in texture.
  • Add the parboiled rice and mix it well.
  • If you want to give tadka to the dish, heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, chopped green chilli and stir fry. Add the tadka to your curd rice mix and enjoy the dish!
